Cosmos's Bio
The Servicing Smile
Small Character Insight
Cosmos Evergreen is the 7th child of 14. She is right smack in the middle of a huge family with five sisters and eight brothers. Her mom and dad are both bunny type faunus and, unfortunately, they follow the stereotype of mating like rabbits. Nevertheless, with Cosmos growing up and being raised around a loving and sweet family, she's learned many things! One of them being that in order to be happy in the world you have to be kind to everyone, even if they don't deserve it. On the other hand, you also need to defend yourself from people who want to hurt you or those you care for. She's grown up with these ideas in her head and has helped show her younger brothers and sister that way of life as well!
Because of how she was raised, she believes that it doesn't matter who you are, human or faunus, you don't deserve to be bullied by anyone. That is one of the reason why she wanted to be a huntress, to make sure that no one was taken down by any negative force, even if it was the grimm. This way of thinking was shown through her childhood as she was the only one there to comfort one of her first friends in school, Leqhoa after a group of human students attacked her because of her antlers. After that, she was there to make sure it didn't happen again. If you are Cosmos's friend, she will be there to fight by your side.
But, just because Cosmos is kind doesn't mean she doesn't know what it's like to feel pain. Even though she was raised to be a proud faunus, she was also taught to pick her battles. That being said, she knows how to hide that she's a faunus quite well despite the fact that she has a pair of noticeable bunny ears. She does this by combing her ears down into her hair. Since the colors match, they're hard to spot.
The Cause For Her Smile
One day after Cosmos, who was seven at the time, had just finished school and was waiting for her little sister, Terra to leave the building so that they could walk home together. But, Terra was running late. Cosmos went back into the school to ask her teacher to call for her sister, but instead another faunus student ran up to her. 'Ruddy and his friends have Terra! They're in the gym, you've gotta come fast!' Cosmos was panicked. Terra was her little sister, she had to protect her!
'Go to the middle school and get my big sisters run as fast as you can!'
'Okay!'
Cosmos couldn't wait for her sisters to come! Who know what those faunus bullies would have done to her little sister? So, the girl left it to her friend while she went to go find them. By the time she got to the gym the trio of bullies stood over a cowering five year old who was crying her eyes out. Ruddy, a boy who's father raised him to hate because a faunus stole his job. Gem, a girl who's mother was bitter because she was left for a faunus. And, Rust, a boy who just wanted to fit in with the popular kids. All three of them were in Cosmos's class. All three hated her, but she knew how to ignore them, but her little sister hadn't learned those skills yet.
'Get away from her!' Cosmos shouted with clenched fists. The bullies looked at her and laughed, stepping away just enough so that she could see her little sister with scratches and bruises on her. They looked at her and they laughed.
Ruddy spoke, 'I guess its true, every bunny does cower when they're scared.'
RAGE was hard to hide ANGER was hard to ignore. She wanted nothing more than to kick their ribs in, but all she could see was Terra looking at her, scared and crying. Looking at her and trying to see what it was she would do. As mad as she felt, as much as it burned her inside, as much as it burned her inside. . . Cosmos walked up to the bullies with a smile. She said nothing to them. She didn't look them in the eyes. She even went so far as to walk past them and stand between them and her sister. She looked down at her sister and offered a hand, smiling as wide as she could. 'It's alright, Terra. This ain't a loss for yah. Yah got a few bruises and scratches, but well, if it were one on one, i bet you'd be able to take em' down just like yah did Spiro. You're strong, right?'
'Y-Yeah. I'm strong. Strong like Tuft and Tan. . .' Terra took Cosmos's hand and made it to her feet.
'Yes yah are. And, you're smarter than these guys too. Just cause y're a faunus don't mean you're beneath em, right?'
'Right.'
Cosmos held her smile as she took her sister's hand. She looked ahead at the bullies and smiled happily, but her eyes were on fire. She didn't smile because she wanted to. She didn't smile because she was happy. She smiled because it was the best way to show her sister that they would be alright. 'We're gonna leave now and if yah try to stop us, we're gonna have to defend ourselves.' That was the final warning she could give. She was there now. These were her classmates and they were bullying her sister. Which means, if they decided to attack again, she’d have to take them down.
“You aren't going anywhere, dumb Bunny!’ Gem shouted, making Terra wince.
“Y'er right! /I’m/ not goin’ anywhere. /We/ are. I’m takin’ my little sister home and if yah ain’t happy, then yah can try to fight me tomorrow.”
“I’d rather do it now!” Ruddy spoke up, rushing forward with a fist balled up and ready to be thrown at Cosmos. She reacted by pulling Terra behind her and clenching her eyes shut to prepare for the impact. But, after a second when no pain was felt, Cosmos opened her eyes.
Ruddy Was hovering off of the ground by the back of his shirt. The girl that held him had shining blonde hair and an scowl of pure anger. Galaxy. Gem was pinned to the ground by a single foot being pressed into her back. The pink haired girl that caused this had an expressionless face. Ultra Rust was literally unable to move as brown haired girl was sitting right on top of him. Spiro
"I think you've enough time harassing my sisters. Now scram." Galaxy spoke with a glare that instilled pure terror into the boy. She dropped him to the ground right after, signaling for the other two rabbits to do the same. They did and then. . . the bullies ran away.
That night when the Evergreen girls returned home, they shared the story of what happened with the rest of their family and only one question was asked. 'Why did you smile?' But, there was really no answer she could give! She smiled because smiling means you aren't worried. She smiled because smiling means it'll be okay. Smiling doesn't cost anything in life. Smiling doesn't hurt anyone. Cosmos smiled because at the time it was the only service she could offer to help her sister feel better.
